Week 10!!!

So again I'm realizing the weeks are passing by too quickly, I almost forgot to blog this week, hence why I'm doing it on Sunday. I think this week was the toughest so far. I had a lot of work to get done, but I think next week is going to make up for it. It's tough to work ahead because a lot of my professors post work week-by-week, but I was able to get a head start on some of my criminal justice reading and chemistry lab reports. Also happy Halloween!!! I have no plans for today but I did hang out with some friends yesterday and we watched some Halloween movies. Nothing too spooky though, no horror movies for me thank you.  I did manage to get to the Humane Society last weekend. Manging the bus times is going to be tricky, but I'm trying to make it there at least once a week.  Even though it's been a busy week, I still managed to read a lot of books. If you know me, you know that I can spend hours at a time reading if I feel like it. I decided to reread one of my

WEEK 9!!!

Now is the point in the semester where the weeks are going by really fast. I feel like I'm doing these posts way to often now. It's not ok, I only have about month and a half left here. This week was a tough one. I have had a criminal justice midterm, a biology exam, and I have to finalize the classes I'm going to take next semester by November 1st. I'm experiencing the typical mid-semester procrastination.      Not much happened this week apart from class work. But the weekend has been much more eventful. I went to see Dune on Friday. I had some complaints but I tend to be overly critical of movies sometimes. I thought it was well done but admitedly I was confused about 90% of the time. I'm also going to go to the Humane Society today for the first time today. I'm sure I'll have an update for next weeks blog (maybe with some pictures of some cute animals). I think they only have cats, but that's ok I guess cats need homes too, right?     Daylight h

WEEK 8!!!

I figured out that I skipped a week when I changed my blogging day from Monday to Saturday so I had to catch myself up with my titles. This week was another interesting one. I did find myself at the library everyday this week to do work. However, as of literally 5 minutes ago, my WiFi starting workng again. After multiple calls and emails and tests all they had to do was reset the router. Of course. At least I got comfortable working in the library, I think that'll come in handy if I just need to switch up my environment to focus on my work.  I made a bit of progress with my study abroad plans. I've finished setting up my student account and narrowed down some housing options. I just need to apply to a few dorms and figure out a few more classes to take while I'm there.  Overall another well-rounded week. I went out for sushi with some friends, took a walk thorugh the trails behind my dorm (even though it was because I had to build a rock tower for my art class, it was sti

WEEK 6!!!

Another week in the books! Lots of things happened this week, some good, some bad. Unfortunately my chemistry professor tested positive for COVID so for the next few weeks, we're watching online lectures. Now, I only have one in person class that meets once a week. In some ways this is nice, because it frees up time during the day to work on whatever I need to, but it also keeps me cooped up in my room. So instead of that, I've been getting in the habit of going to the library so I can just get all my work for the day done and over with, and I won't get distracted. This also helps because, for some reason, the WiFi in my building isn't working in my room. Like right now, I'm having to type this in the lobby area of my dorm, which is about 15 feet away from my room, but for some reason I get service here and not there.  On a good note, I took part in some October festivities this week. I went with a group of friends to the Harvest Festival the school was having. It c

WEEK 5!!

So this was a bit of a slower week. I find that my weeks alternate in terms of how much stuff I do. As far as an update on my goals from last week, I found places to do all of the cool activities I was thinking of, and found bus routes for each spot. I'm hoping to submit my application to volunteer at the humane society sometime this week and maybe go this weekend.  I hung out with some friends on Wednesday. I'm glad to say I'm socializing much more than I did last year. Quarantine and having all online classes was not the best thing for me. It also snowed again this week. I find that if it's going to be cold, I would rather it at least snow because then it's pretty. It is definitely getting colder here, and the daylight hours are finally starting to decrease. The sun set at 7:30 tonight but it'll be interesting later on when its 4:00 and already getting dark outside.  I've also been working on finishing up some things for my study abroad semester. I recent
